Random Life

I feel like blogging, but my mind is lost and out of focus tonight.  I think too many thoughts at once, and they all lead to nowhere.  And so I share with you my randomness......

The view from the inside - our new redneck kitchen water source.  It's been in for a few days now, and I still get a chuckle out of it every time I see it.
Columbus made me this handy dandy shelf to store my cast iron skillet on.  I was storing the skillet on top of the washing machine, but with the spin cycle and all it wasn't a great place to leave it, so it's been bouncing around between our crowded kitchen table and the three feet of counter space that my gourmet kitchen has.  This was the perfect answer for our tiny house.
Spring is in full swing, which means small hands, coupled with bright and shinny faces full of pride, bring me flowers each and everyday, sometimes many times a day.
Baby Man had his first ever Popsicle.  I didn't give it to him, nor did I authorize him getting one, but sympathetic siblings deemed it time to initiate him into their clan.....he was happy and grateful....I just thought about our lack of running water and wondered if it would be inappropriate to hose him off inside the house?
And because older kids love to see themselves on the computer screen too....
Tomorrow is the emergency preparedness fair.  If any of my local readers (I know you're out there) see us, please say "hi," we'd love to meet you.  I'm interested to see what they have there, the kids are all excited about "free popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, and the jumpy castle"....who can blame them?  And since we'll be in the neighborhood of Gordon Food Service, we will stop and do some grocery shopping.  We should all be plenty worn out by the time we get back to the mountaintop.

I hope that you all have a great and prosperous weekend:)

    1. Yes, I do. I think we need a drain in the kitchen floor now, just think how easy it would be to spray it off to clean it!?

  4. I love the pictures of the wild flowers. That brought back memories. I think your kitchen plumbing is just fine. You have worked out a way to have water anyway. I myself spent my first married year carrying my dishes to the stream out back. I would have loved to have a hose over the sink.

    1. Thanks Kymber:) I DO giggle when I see it! I'm just sorry that the stick that holds open the window didn't really show up in the picture - that really would have completed the whole scene...lol.

  11. Very clever water solution! So convenient the hose can go through the kitchen window, LOL. Love your cast iron skillet shelf too. We're working on storage type shelves for our kitchen, so I'm keen on ideas.

Pic of Little Man is precious. What nice big bros.
